Being a CCST Science Fellow means undertaking a year of public service and government leadership training inside the policymaking heart of the California State Legislature. You as the PhD scientist will be trained by CCST, then placed in a State Assembly or State Senate office to work as a legislative staffer to learn first-hand how policy decisions are made in the State of California.

Two alumni will be on hand to speak about their experience:

Gabby Nepomuceno PhD, who received a PhD in Chemistry from UC Davis and worked in the Assembly Business and Professions Committee as a 2016 CCST Science Fellow.

Jane Mantey PhDwho received a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from Meharry Medical College and worked in the Office of Assemblymember Reginald Jones-Sawyer as a 2015 CCST Science Fellow.

Come join us at UC Davis, and ask former CCST Science Fellows about their experiences working and living in Sacramento. Don’t miss it!

The CCST Science & Technology Policy Fellowship trains scientific thinkers to be policy-savvy, while helping equip California’s lawmakers with science-savvy staff.
